The Minister for European Affairs Helen McEntee T.D. to meet with Mr. Hans Dahlgren, the Swedish Minister for European Affairs on his visit to Dublin.
Speaking ahead of the meeting Minister McEntee said:
“I look forward to welcoming my Swedish counterpart Minister Hans Dahlgren to Dublin tomorrow. We will discuss a range of issues, including Brexit and the follow up on the discussions from the European Council last week. We will also discuss a number of EU policies including the Multi-Annual Financial Framework and Enlargement, as well as looking at ways to enhance Irish-Swedish cooperation within the EU.
“Minister Dahlgren’s visit follows my visit to Stockholm earlier this year, when I visited Sweden as part of the St. Patrick’s Day Programme. Relations between Ireland and Sweden continue to be excellent and Minister Dahlgren’s visit is a timely opportunity to further deepen our two countries’ relationship.
“I will also take the opportunity to thank the Swedish Government and its people for their unwavering support during the Brexit negotiations.”
During his visit, Minister Dahlgren will also visit the border to see how invisible border operates on a daily basis.
