Our most recent guest was His Excellency Mr. Yuriy Filatov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ireland. Ambassador Filatov is a graduate of the Moscow State University of International Languages (English and Spanish Languages), entering diplomatic service in 1979. Between 1979 and 1999 he held a number of postings as the Embassy of the USSR in Washington, D.C. before serving there for the Russian Federation. Continuing his service in North America, His Excellency served as a Minister-Counsellor in Canada before being elevated to the rank of Ambassador service the Russian Federation in Chile. Returning to Russia, Ambassador Filatov became the Director, the State Protocol Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. In 2017, His Excellency Mr. Yuriy Filatov was received as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Ireland.
