Minister warns of the risk of African swine fever spreading to Ireland
The Tanaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Simon Coveney T.D., has welcomed the signing of a Host Country Agreement between the Government and the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA).
The Agreement provides the basis for PCA activities, in particular high level international arbitration, to take place in Ireland.
“Ireland has a huge amount to offer as a venue for international arbitration. Our legal system is highly respected internationally. Post-Brexit we will be the only fully common law, English speaking country in the EU. We also benefit from a geographic location and transport links that make Ireland very accessible from Europe, North America and further afield.
The Government is delighted to be partnering with the Dublin Dispute Resolution Centre on this initiative. The DDRC offers top class dispute resolution facilities and will provide an ideal venue for PCA arbitrations.”
